28 Aug - Local departure then to Normandy for a three night stay.

29 Aug - D-Day -The British/ Canadian Sector (included). Our day will start with a short visit to Pegasus Bridge, the site of the first action on ‘D-Day’, when D Company of the Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, under the command of Major John Howard, seized the two bridges over the Caen canal and River Orne, to ensure the security and reinforcement of the 6th Airborne Division in its vital battles for the Eastern flank. We will move on to the Airborne Forces Cemetery at Ranville, the first village to be liberated. There we will join many veterans and their families in their pilgrimage and service of remembrance to the fallen. After lunch we will travel along the British/Canadian sector, stopping at the major beach landing areas of Sword, Juno and Gold. This will include the site where the only Victoria Cross of D-Day was won by CSM Stan Hollis of the Green Howards. Our day will end at Bayeux CWGC where we can once again pay our respects to the fallen, before returning to our hotel. B

30 Aug - Merville Battery and the American Sector (included). The day will start with a visit to the Merville Battery, the epic tale of the neutralising of the guns which were able to cause havoc on Sword Beach. This museum, the most improved in Normandy, takes you back in time, with a very realistic ‘son et lumière’ re-enactment of the assault on the battery by Lt. Col TBH Otway and his men. Following this we will move across to the American Sector with visits to the American Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach. This will be followed with a stop at the beach itself, to walk in the footsteps of so many heroes who were to suffer on these bloody sands. We will then move on to Utah Beach, a totally different story, with so few initial casualties. From there we move inland to Ste. Mère Église, the area where paratroopers of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions were to land and gain a foothold in Normandy. B

31 Aug Journey To Calais, then return home by coach.
