A very varied and enjoyable tour to Grenada and Barbados was superbly organised by Sun Living Travel. The 2007 tour was such a great success that we are now in the initial stages of planning another Caribbean tour for 2009 and we will certainly use Sun Living again ahead of the larger and more impersonal tour operators. Only a few travel people have ever sailed on SeaDream and even fewer have the close relationship we are pleased to have built up with SeaDream Yacht Club since its inception. At Sunliving Paul and I have sailed several times on SeaDream I & II in both the Mediterranean and also the Caribbean. Another colleague, Tony, has chartered one of them in its former role as Sea Goddess for a major international car manufacturer.

Equinox, the world’s latest shiny new 2850 passenger cruise ship is coming to Southampton at the end of July and before entering service, firstly in the Med and then the Caribbean. Paul and I (together with our wives and 600 or so other lucky souls) will be on board, ‘inspecting’ all her luxury suites and other facilities on a one night cruise. It’s the annual Passenger Shipping Association dinner when all the leading lights of the cruise and ferry industries get together. No doubt there’ll loads of vips and celebrities there too. Quite appropriate as the cruise line which owns Equinox is Celebrity Cruises.
